Service Shutdown Notice

Moonbeam is shutting down. Please read this FAQ for important information about what this means for you and your data.


Why is Moonbeam shutting down?

We haven't been able to grow as much as we expected or hoped to. Given current market conditions, we weren't able to secure the funding needed to continue operating Moonbeam.

When is Moonbeam shutting down?

Moonbeam will begin shutting down on November 7, 2025. The service will go offline on November 14, 2025, and you won't be able to access it after that date. During the week between these dates, features will be progressively turned off.

What's being shut down and when?

Here's the timeline for what's closing:

November 7, 2025 - The following features are no longer available:

  • Subscribing to a realm
  • Tipping a streamer
  • Purchasing Moonstones
  • Purchasing profile cosmetics
  • Registering new accounts

November 10, 2025 - Streams will no longer be hosted on the platform.

November 14, 2025 - The service goes offline completely.

What happens to my account and data?

Your account and all associated data will be deleted when the service shuts down on November 14, 2025.

Will I be able to access my content after shutdown?

No. Starting on November 14, 2025, you won't be able to log in or access any content on the platform.

What happens to my subscriptions?

We've stopped charging for all subscriptions starting November 7, 2025. You won't be billed for any future subscription periods.

Will my Moonstones be refunded?

If you received Moonstones as part of our 2024 crowdfunding campaign, those won't be refunded. However, if you purchased Moonstones within the last 60 days and still have unused Moonstones in your account, we'll refund your unused balance to the original payment method you used.

I'm a creator with an earning balance. Will I be paid out?

Yes, you'll be paid out. We'll process payouts on November 14, 2025. If you're an international creator, we'll email you to request your PayPal information so we can process your payout.

Can I expect service interruptions during the shutdown period?

Yes, there may be some interruptions. As we turn off different parts of the service, you might experience issues with chat, streaming, or posts. We're doing our best to keep things running smoothly during this transition period.

Why are things shutting down over a week instead of immediately?

We built something special here, and we want to give everyone a chance to exchange socials and say goodbye before everything goes offline.

What should I do before the shutdown date?

For most users, there's nothing you need to do, just enjoy the closing days of the platform. If you want to connect with other people you've met, now's a good time to exchange socials or contact info.
